    Early Ticket Purchases:
    Advance tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for kids (12 and under) and available now through March 17th.  After March 17th, the cost is $20 for adults and $5 for kids and have to be purchased at the door. We will accept checks through March 17th and after that, we will only accept cash. For the contestant that sells the most advance tickets, they will win a $50 cash award.

     Contestsant Salute Ads
    $50 each

    We are asking each contestant to sell at least one salute ad that will appear on the "big screen" before the pageant and during intermission.  The ads are $50 each. Whoever sells the most ads will win the Miss Greater Rochester/Miss Upstate New York Marketing Award and a scholarship award.  The more ads sold, the more scholarships we will award. We hope you will participate and make this a grand year!

    Ads are due by March 23rd.

    IMPORTANT INFORMATION!

    This year's pageant is for both Miss Greater Rochester and Miss Upstate New York.

    • Greater Rochester is ONLY open to the Western and Central New York Regions. However, those competing for Miss Greater Rochester are ALSO eligible for Miss Upstate New York. 
    • Upstate New York is open to the entire state of New York. If the contestant is outside of Western and Central New York, they are NOT eligible for Miss Greater Rochester. 
       
      Eligibility Requirements
    • Must be a U.S. citizen
    • At least 17 years old at the time of local pageant (April 1, 2012)
    • No more than 24 years old on December 31, 2012
    • High school graduate or successfully completed G.E.D. testing program by July 1st
    • Female, never married and never have had children
    • Legal resident of New York at least 6 months prior to local pageant competition
    • Geographic eligibility for local pageants (one must apply)
      • RESIDENCY -
        • Miss Greater Rochester: Must resided in the Western New York or Central New York regions for a minimum of six (6) months prior to entering a local preliminary pageant. Proof will be a New York's driver's license, auto registration, current lease, student ID card or any other official document establishing residency.
        • Miss Upstate New York: Must resided within New York state for a minimum of six (6) months prior to entering a local preliminary pageant. Proof will be a New York's driver's license, auto registration, current lease, student ID card or any other official document establishing residency.
      • SCHOOL ATTENDANCE -
        • Miss Greater Rochester: completed at least one full-time semester at a high school, community college or a four year college/university within the State of New York and must be currently enrolled as a full-time student located within Western New York or Central New York regions. Proof will be evidence of registration, transcripts or other official documentation from the appropriate educational institution.
        • Miss Upstate New York: completed at least one full-time semester at a high school, community college or a four year college/university within the State of New York and must be currently enrolled as a full-time student. Proof will be evidence of registration, transcripts or other official documentation from the appropriate educational institution.
      • EMPLOYMENT -
        • Miss Greater Rochester: have been a full-time employee of a firm located within the local pageant franchise area for a minimum of six (6) months prior to entering the local pageant. Must also be currently employed by a firm in Western New York or Central New York. Proof will be a letter from the contestant's employer.
        • Miss Upstate New York: have been a full-time employee of a firm located within the local pageant franchise area for a minimum of six (6) months prior to entering the local pageant. Must also be currently employed by a firm in New York state. Proof will be a letter from the contestant's employer.
    • Must maintain the basis for eligibility throughout the local and state competition

     Competition components of pageant include:

    • 9-minute interview
    • Lifestyle in swimsuit
    • Talent presentation (must be 1 Min. 30 seconds or less)
    • Evening wear
    • On-stage question
    • Adoption of the personal platform (Each contestant competing at the local, state and national level must choose an issue in which they care deeply about and this is of relevance to our country.)


    CMN Component:


    All eligible Miss Greater Rochester and Upstate New York contestants are required to raise a minimum of $100 to support the Children's Miracle Network and the Miss America Scholarship Fund. This is not an entrance fee, but rather a service requirement to participate in Miss America sponsored pageants.

    The Miss America Organization encourages young women who participate in the program to become involved in their communities and to speak out on issues of concern to them. Each contestant must choose a social issue on which to focus.

    5. Proof of age and residency

      • Your birth certificate (Everyone must submit this)
      • Select two of the following...
        •  A copy of our drivers license 
        • A copy of your school tuition bill if you are eligible by being a full-time student.
        •  A copy of your last pay stub if you are eligible by employment eligibility.

    Wardrobe Requirements:
    • Interview: An outfit appropriate for a job interview. It does not need to be a suit.
    • Talent: A costume that compliments your talent presentation.
    • Swimsuit: A one or two-piece swimsuit that is suitable for your body type and in good taste.
    • Evening wear: A formal outfit of any length.
    • Opening number outfit: any dress, any color. You are not judged in the area, so please do not go out and purchase one.
    The new Miss Greater Rochester and Miss Upstate New York will attend the state pageant workshop on April 13 & 14, 2012. The winners MUST attend this workshop!
